Not me! But I did listen to the blues! This past Sunday was a Blues and BBQ festival on the pier in the city and MBE and I stopped on by. I figured it would be the perfect way to see summer off before the season starts.
Alas, the first few pics that I took are a little blurry. I had the camera on manual focus and I forgot to do so. Oops! It was a lovely day, although it was supposed to rain, the sun was out and the temps were nice and I got a LOT of color. Besides forgetting to focus, I also forgot to reapply my sunscreen. Double oops!
Since the first band failed to show, we waited for the second act to go on; listened to a few songs and then hit the road. Unfortunately, sitting in the sun for an hour because the first band wasn't there gave me the blues, so by the time I heard the blues, I was feeling a bit done. Besides, I also had a belly full of a chopped / pulled pork sammie. It was billed as a pulled pork but it was really big hunks o' pig. But mighty tasty all the same, so no real complaints on the food front.
Exciting, no? Well, if you don't find that exciting, maybe you'll find this exciting. We felt the Virginia earthquake. It really didn't seem like such a big deal that some of the people on the local news made it out to be. The ground did not roll under my feet. The building only shook for maybe five seconds. Oh, and for the record, on really windy winter and spring days, it sways more than that it seemed to move in the earthquake. But still exciting none the less, a good excuse to congregate and watch the TV for news. And to top it off, a hurricane is headed up the East Coast. Craziness, I tell ya!
